Vibrio Parahaemolyticus Detection Kit
Vibrio parahaemolyticus is a rapidly growing bacterium that thrives in organic waste (sludge) and is naturally found in coastal waters.
It is capable of liquefying the shrimp tissue when it is still alive, causing 100% mortality within the first 10-35 days of stocking. Unlike other seafood pathogens, Vibrio parahaemolyticus leaves the pond with a zero yield, resulting in loss of the entire investment in feed and seed. Finding the precise source of contamination, whether it comes from common water sources, the pond soil, or the post-larvae (PLs) themselves from the hatchery, is the only way to solve this issue.
Our Vibrio parahaemolyticus detection kit specifically targets the regulatory control markers from the sample that may cause AHPND (Acute Hepatopancreatic Necrosis Disease), eliminating false alarms for non-toxic strains. This method allows detection in multiple matrices (water, tissue, and sediment) and provides fast and reliable results to take actions.
Designed for:
Farmed shrimp like Litopenaeus vannamei (Pacific Whiteleg Shrimp), Penaeus monodon (Giant Tiger Prawn), post-larvae (PL), sediment, pond water, etc.
